Invisalign: breakthrough technology that lets you have the smile you’ve always wanted – without braces.
Invisalign® makes it easy, as you can achieve your straight and desired smile without people noticing you are having treatment.
The Invisalign® system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to move your teeth over time giving you straight teeth and a great smile.
Dr Rodrigues or Dr Lakshmanan will check your teeth and make sure Invisalign® is a good option for you. If it is suitable, a treatment plan will be established. Impressions will be taken of your teeth and these will be sent to the Invisalign® laboratories for processing.
The impressions of your teeth will be digitised in order for Dr Rodrigues to work with a computerised 3D image of your teeth.
Once you and your dentist have agreed to the treatment plan, aligners are then custom-made for you and have to be worn for approximately two weeks before you switch to the next aligner in the series. While the number of aligners varies for each individual, a full treatment typically includes 18-36 aligners for both the upper and lower teeth which will take approximately 9-18 months depending on your individual case.
How long do you have to wear aligners for?
Aligners should be worn day and night—except when eating, brushing or flossing your teeth—in order to complete your treatment in the timeline determined by you and your dentist. You’ll come in for check-ups every 4-6 weeks to monitor your progress and to receive your next series of aligners. During the entire treatment process, you’ll notice gradual movement and your teeth will gradually move into a new and even smile.

Invisalign FAQs
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that can be used as an alternative to traditional metal braces. The system makes use of a series of clear, removable aligners that are designed to move your teeth gradually over time. The aligners are custom-made, which means that they fit your mouth comfortably. The aligners have to be worn for around 2 weeks before they are replaced with a new set. Although treatment differs from patient to patient, the process generally involves between 18 and 36 aligners for both the upper and lower teeth, which will take around 9 to 18 months to achieve the desired result, depending on your case.
You will need to wear your Invisalign aligners day and night, although you can take them out when you eat and brush and floss your teeth. We recommend that you come in for check-ups every 4 to 6 weeks so that we can check that the treatment is progressing as it should, and so that we can give you a new series of aligners each time. For the best possible results, and to complete your treatment in the timeline determined by you and your dentist, you must wear your aligners for the recommended amount of time.
One of the biggest benefits of Invisalign is that the aligners are almost completely invisible, so the treatment is a very discreet option. The aligners are also very easy to remove when eating and brushing your teeth. Invisalign generally requires fewer trips to the dentist than traditional metal braces, and in many cases, the treatment period is much shorter. The aligners are also very comfortable to wear, and don’t cause any irritation in the mouth as they are made of plastic, rather than metal and wire components.
